Cookie Policy

Effective date: 10 May 2026

  • Summary: We use three types of cookies — essential (required for sign-in and security), analytics (PostHog, Google Analytics — opt-out available), and third-party integrations (Stripe for payments). We do not use advertising cookies. You can manage your preferences at any time.

    Essential 6 cookies

    Analytics 3 cookies

    Third-party 2 cookies

Summary

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners about how the site is being used.

Cookies are not the only tracking technology in use on the web. We also reference similar technologies in this Policy, including localStorage (used to persist session data in your browser), and third-party scripts that may set their own cookies when loaded. All references to "cookies" in this Policy cover these technologies unless stated otherwise.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies we use on the Hourze platform, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle all personal data collected through the Platform.

1. What Cookies Are

We use three categories of cookies on Hourze: essential cookies that are required for the Platform to function, analytics cookies that help us understand how the Platform is used, and third-party integration cookies set by services we connect to. Each category is described in full below.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or any cookies that track your activity across third-party websites for commercial purposes.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to operate. Without them, core features like signing in, maintaining your session, and accessing secure pages would not work. Because these cookies are technically required, they are placed without asking for consent under applicable law (UK PECR Regulation 6(4), EU ePrivacy Directive Article 5(3)).

You cannot opt out of essential cookies without disabling the Platform entirely. If you disable them via your browser settings, you will not be able to sign in or use authenticated features.

3. Essential cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how users interact with the Platform — which features are used, where users drop off, how long sessions last, and how the product can be improved. None of the data collected by analytics cookies is used to identify you personally or shared with advertisers.

We use analytics tools in privacy-respecting configurations: IP addresses are anonymised before storage, data is not shared with third parties for advertising, and we do not build individual user profiles for commercial purposes.

Analytics cookies require your consent under UK PECR and the EU ePrivacy Directive. You can opt out at any time using the cookie preference controls below, or via the opt-out mechanisms listed in the table.

If you opt out, aggregate analytics will be less accurate, but the Platform will function normally.

4. Analytics Cookies

When you interact with certain features — such as payment processing or in-app support — third-party services may set their own cookies. These are governed by the privacy policies of those third parties, which are linked below. We have listed all known third-party cookies below and will keep this list updated as integrations change.

Stripe is used for payment processing. Its cookies are technically required to process payments securely and are therefore classified as essential (listed in Section 3). Stripe's Privacy Policy is available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

If we add any others in the future, this Policy will be updated with at least 14 days' notice.

5. Third-Party Integration Cookies

You have several ways to control cookies on Hourze:

Cookie preference centre: when you first visit the Platform, a cookie notice will appear allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies by category. You can revisit and change your preferences at any time via the cookie settings link in the Platform footer.

Browser settings: all major browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in. Relevant browser guides: Chrome — support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647 · Firefox — support.mozilla.org/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer · Safari — support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471 · Edge — support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies.

Analytics opt-outs: PostHog — posthog.com/docs/privacy/gdpr · Google Analytics — tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout · Mixpanel — mixpanel.com/optout.

Do Not Track: we honour browser-level Do Not Track (DNT) signals for analytics cookies. If your browser sends a DNT:1 header, non-essential analytics will not be initialised.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that took place before withdrawal. Essential cookies cannot be withdrawn as they are necessary for the Platform to function.

6. How to Manage and Opt Out

We will update this Cookie Policy when we add, change, or remove cookies — for example, when integrating a new third-party tool. Material changes (new cookie categories, new third-party providers) will be communicated by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required, by refreshing your consent.
